The last Will and Testament of William Urmson of Bidston Light House
Dated 28th March 1828
On the 21st day of April 1836 Thomas Nichols the Executor in this will named was sworn in common form (Alice Urmson therein named being dead and Jane Urmson therein mentioned having married the said Thomas Nichols) and he further made oath that the personal Estate & effects of the Testator within the Diocese of Chester were under the value of 235£.

In the Name of God Amen. I William Urmson of Bidston Light House in the County of Chester Lighthouse Keeper being of sound and disposing mind Memory and Understanding do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First I direct that my Just Debts Funeral expenses and the expenses attending the proving this my last will and Testament be paid and whereas I am possessed of and entitled unto a Messuage my Tenements Lands and appurtenances situate in Bidston under a Lease for Twenty four years from Robert Vyner Esq and whereas I am also possessed of divers Goods and Chattels, Household Furnitures, Money securities for Money and other personal Estates and Effects and whereas my late Son Richard Urmson, and my Daughters Sarah Bird, Elizabeth Garner and my late Daughter Mary Allen (being my Four Children by my first Marriage) have been fully provided for in my lifetime I therefore declare it to be my Will and intention that they or their Heirs take no benefit under this my Will, and I do Give Devise and Bequeath my said Leasehold Messuage or Tenement and Lands or the produces to arise from the Sale thereof together with all my Plate, Linen, China, Household Goods and Furniture, Money securities for Money Chattels Personal Estate and Effects of what kind soever and wheresoever the same shall be situate, unto amongst and Between my Four Daughters by my second Marriage (viz. Alice Urmson, Ann Urmson, Jane Urmson and Catharine Urmson) their Executors Administrators and Assigns or such of them as shall be living at the time of my decease, share and Share alike, and in case my Four last mentioned Daughters, or any of them shall have departed this live leaving lawful Issue, then I direct that the Child or Children of such deceased Parent shall stand in the place and stead and shall receive the share which the deceased Parent or parents would have been entitled to if living, and I further direct that my Executors herein after named do and shall use their best diligence to sell and dispose and convert into Money my Leasehold and personal Estate, and to Collect, receive and get in such of my Estate and Effects as shall be outstanding on personal or other Security so that the clear produce of my Personal Estate and Effects may be divided as herein directed within six Months after my decease after which time Interest shall be payable on the several shares and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Thomas Nichols of Lower Bebington and my two Daughters Alice Urmson and Jane Urmson Executors and Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making voice all former and other Will or Wills heretofore made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
